Skinny Mike's Ice Cream & Shave Ice

Truly enjoyed visiting this place. The young guy was working alone but hustled to make sure he moved the line. It was really nice to see how dedicated he was to his job. Very respectful and admirable. He’s a keeper! Great shave ice too! Will definitely come back.

While not my favorite Shave Ice in Hawaii (that title is held by Scandys on Kona). Skinny Mikes IS my favorite on Kauai. Skinny Mikes is known in our family as “those huge shave ice bowls”! In addition to amazing shave ice they also have coffee and scoop ice cream making it a one stop shop for families with multiple tastes. For me, shave ice begins with the shave and then must have a wide assortment of flavors both Hawaiian and traditional. You can add a scoop of any flavor ice cream for $2.50 and a snow cap of condensed milk which is a non-negotiable. At the End of the Day we have never been to Kauai that didn’t involve a stop at Skinny Mike’s and we never will. Also like much of Kauai there is a shortage of workers and staff so please be patient and understanding when there is a huge line and two people working. Don’t be those tourists!

Great selection of yummy ice cream and amazing service! Jasmine was an absolute pleasure to talk to. She was kind, funny, and extremely helpful at recommending ice cream flavors. We got the Ube ice cream and it was delicious! We’ll make sure to stop by again before leaving Kauai

100% will come back. Clean establishment with a sugar cone smell you can catch on the wind from the parking lot. Shaved ice with ice cream this visit. Kind staff. Owner's got rizz at the register! Good people and quality flavors. Easy parking across the river- get those steps in before a shaved ice the size of your head.

Skinny Mike’s is a must-visit! I had their shave ice with macadamia ice cream, and it was absolutely divine – the perfect balance of creamy and refreshing. The friendly staff added to the fun by challenging me to show my empty bowl before I left, and I happily rose to the occasion. Delicious treats and a great atmosphere make this place unforgettable!

What makes this banana split five stars is the fresh roasted macadamia nuts, high quality buttermilk ice cream and island bananas. Great value and large portions for the money.

The Gelato is so amazing. They give you 2 scoops of ice cream of your choice and I think a double espresso shot. The first and last thing I had on my Hawai’i trip.
